Overview
The Global Shield against Climate Risks consists of the following governing bodies: the Global Shield Board, the Coordination Hub, the Technical Advisory Group, and the Secretariat.
The Board assumes political and strategic oversight and provides overall guidance. It approves core documents, sets the standards for Global Shield activities, and approves new cohorts of Global Shield Countries. The Coordination Hub supports the In-Country Process with technical advice and implementation coordination to help deliver on the ambition of the Global Shield. Members of the Coordination Hub therefore play a key role in the execution of Global Shield support. The Technical Advisory Group provides independent and neutral advisory support to the In-Country Process, the Coordination Hub and the Board, and provides recommendations for the Request for Support. The Global Shield Secretariat supports all key processes – among other tasks it convenes, coordinates, and facilitates the In-Country Process and fosters collaboration and communication among relevant implementing organisations.
The Global Shield Financing Structure consists of the three financing vehicles – Global Shield Solutions Platform, Global Shield Financing Facility, and the CVF & V20 Joint Multi-Donor Fund. Based on the country’s Request for Support they develop tailored support packages and provide financial support for implementing partners to deliver on the requested needs.
